In an age of global displacement, the Center for Public Theology and Migration seeks to transform narratives on (im)migration through theological reflection and social action.

The Center for Public Theology and Migration exists to equip Christian believers in the Church, the academy, and public life to positively proactively serve (im)migrants and displaced people in our modern world. We do this through ministry development, public scholarship, and community partnerships.

2019 – Mygration Christian Conference was founded at Congregation Lion of Judah in Boston, MA. The conference was born out of a desire to see thoughtful and faithful engagement on what the Bible says about immigration from a Christian perspective.

2020 – Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, MCC transitions its annual conference online (’20, ’21, ’22) and launches its online book webinar series and blog article initiatives.

2023 – MCC returns to host its 5th annual conference in person. This conference featured Christian scholars, pastors, and community leaders with the experience of working in immigrant communities for the purpose of equipping Christians to understand and respond to the humanitarian crisis facing migrants and refugees in our world today.

2024 – MCC hosts its first Graduate Student Conference alongside its 6th annual Mygration Christian Conference. It also launches its first online course, the Bible and Migration.

2025 – MCC expands to become the Center for Public Theology and Migration (CPTM), with a renew vision to transform the narratives on (im)migration through reflection and action.

We believe in active reflection upon the humanitarian crisis facing of migrants in refugees, and reflective action based in the teachings of the Christian Scriptures for the Church, the academy, and public life. This work is done en conjunto, together, believing that when the community of faith comes together,  the liberative work of the Spirit is revealed in the world.Â
