As our nation marks its 250th anniversary, we find ourselves holding two realities at once: gratitude for the promise of America and concern for the challenges facing many of our neighbors. For immigrant communities in particular, this moment calls for both honest reflection and renewed hope.
That is why we invite you to join us for Lament and Hope: An Affirmation and Celebration of the Presence and Contributions of Immigrants on Our Nation’s 250th Anniversary.
This special gathering will bring together pastors, faith leaders, advocates, and community members to pray, worship, reflect, and bear witness to the important role immigrants have played—and continue to play—in shaping our nation.

The U.S. & Mexico border is not just a place...the border is a lens.
Are you an individual looking for a way to join one of our service learning experiences?
This July, we are offering a custom experience that allows individuals to join us who are unable come with a group for our typical Service Learning trips.
The enforcement patterns, legal realities, and ministry tensions many people of faith are now navigating have long been part of everyday ministry at the U.S. & Mexico border.
We invite you to join us from July 16-19 to understand the complexity of immigration enforcement while grounding your response in Scripture, wisdom, and long-term faithfulness. Spaces are limited and filled on a first come, first serve basis.

Through TCIM, each participating congregation will discern how they can enhance compassion, justice, and connection within their communities and among others doing this work. The types of immigration ministries we want to help you start are ministries of COMPASSION or JUSTICE.
What do COMPASSION or JUSTICE immigration ministries look like?
COMPASSION ministries will focus on providing direct services such as shelters, respite centers, resource centers, welcome centers, etc.
JUSTICE ministries will focus on learning about immigration policy, taking trips to the border, hearing stories, and then considering how to practice the ministry of storytelling and witness within the congregation in worship and the community at large.
Each year FW will be accepting churches into the ministry. The ministry includes opportunities to learn from and connect with other churches and is designed to help your ministries become financially sustainable.

Join us on July 27, 2026 at 5:00pm (PST) | 8:00pm (EST) for our Summer Book Webinar with Barbara Sostaita!
Sanctuary Everywhere reimagines practices of sanctuary along the U.S.-Mexico border in order to explore the possibilities for radical fugitivity in the face of militarized border enforcement. After the 2016 presidential election, churches, universities, cities, and even states began declaring themselves sanctuaries. Sostaita proposes that these calls for expanded sanctuary are insufficient when dealing with the everyday workings of immigration enforcement. Through fieldwork in migrant clinics, shelters, and the Sonoran Desert, She demonstrates that, as a sacred practice, sanctuary cannot be fixed in any one destination or mandate. We invite you to join us for an engaging conversation!
